forth tasks to use the Google Help Center to find answers next up how do you use the Google Help Center and the first thing is you can go directly there Google Help Center and click on the Google Help Center and then you can pick a tool with what you want to learn about let's say you want to learn about let's say Google Drive and there's a bunch of information and step-by-step step-by-step guides on how to do it like for example how to view and open files you have a step-by-step guide task 3 use the Google for education help forum to find answers and the third task is how do you use the Google for education help form so let's go there Google for education help forum and you enter the web page and search any type of any type of tool you want for example let's say Google sheets and here are different questions posted on Google sheets or you can create your own question a new topic and you can simply write in your question what is etc and they do ask that you identify yourself as a teacher student and things like that getting the help you need now let's say a teacher is looking for creative ways to add google tools into a classroom setting the best place to get this particular type of help is from the Google for education help forum a teacher wants to share a series of short YouTube videos with her students and she needs a step-by-step guide or on creating playlists the best place to find step-by-step guided help is the Google Help Center lastly suppose an educator wants to know a general question about Google they can simply type the question into a Google search and the answer will be quickly generated now it's time to complete the end of the lesson check so we'll go to the Google training center and now we're in lesson 1 and if you scroll down now we're at the lesson check with the first question asks when you want to provide your students with the steps for how to do an advanced Google search which of the following is the best place to look first that's going to be the Google Help Center anyone can reply to someone's post in the Google for education help forms to provide help and guidance true or false that's going to be true when you are looking for ideas on how other educators are using Google Drive with their students where could you look you can look in a Google search for almost any general question and you can also look in the Google for education help forms you recently tried a new activity using Google sheets with your students and you would like to share with other with other teachers which of the following is a good place to share your ideas with other teachers around the world Google for education help forms and now let's move on to the next lesson build your own Learning Network what is a personal Learning Network a personal Learning Network PLN is a supportive network of people you can learn from a professional Learning Network includes teachers in your school some of whom you may be personally close with or they may be teachers you've never met in person but who you've connected with online when you have a question about teaching technology or anything related to education you can ask your PLN Google educator groups are open to any educator the best way to kick start your own PLN is to join a Google Education Group forwards represent the essence of Google education groups learn share inspire and empower create your own PLN Google education groups are a great way to start a PLN why join a Giga it allows educators to connect with other teachers in their area who are also using Google Apps in their schools where our gigs located each group is locally run with chapters all around the world Google Plus and gigs gang members use the social networking platform Google Plus each gig has a Google Plus community that you can join in Google Plus communities you can post text photos videos links and much more the following tasks are necessary part of Google training task 1 create a Google+ profile in this task we are asked to create a Google+ profile page and if you want to know how to do that you just go to this little icon in the corner of yourself and then you can click on this and it'll take you there and it's gonna have all private information and things like that tasks to join an actual gig in this task we are asked to join a Giga so let's join a Google Education Group and we'll enter the web page for all the groups let's click on groups and you immediately see all the groups all around the world if you go down you can filter by your country so I'm in the United States and we'll go to the New Jersey one here it is and I'm already a member because I had joined this and if you want to see what it's like if you're not a member for example gaghe New Hampshire I would simply click join and I will be a part of the group supporting each other the Google Training Center asks you the educator a couple of questions I will answer them personally for you the first question is if you had a large group of educators to ask what is one thing you would ask them well being that right now I'm working with special education students I would ask a group of educators what tools specifically work well for students with disabilities and what type of accommodations can I get from these tools the next question is what is one class success with Google Apps that you would like to share with others the biggest success comes from using Google Forms as quick assessment but I can also use them to create quizzes which automatically grade themselves you can use it to take polls and the most success that I've had with Google Forms is using it to flip the classroom and provide content in the forms and then have the students work on the form and answer questions now let's move on to the lesson check and go back to the Google training center and here we are at the next lesson we'll scroll down to do the lesson check and the first question pln stands for which of the following what does pln stand for well it stands for Personal Learning Network when a teacher creates a PLN her PLN may include which of the following groups of people well it could be teachers she works with in her school educator she has met at past educational conferences members of her gig or people she hasn't met but that she follows online and it could be all of those correct to find your local Google Education Group you can find a list of active groups on the Google Education web page that's true and let's keep going google educator groups are open only to teachers that have passed a Google educated level 1 exam now that's not true that's gonna be false and now let's move on to the next lesson discover your local Google for education experts discover local Google for education experts experts in your area you can get support from a Google for education expert in your area you can talk to a reference school and ask questions make an informal connection organize some professional development learn of new innovative projects and filter specifics based on your location finding the right expert Google certified trainers trainers provide professional development and training services on Google for education tools and authorized by Google that's what I am Google certified innovators innovators are outstanding educators committed to the innovative use of technology to transform classrooms they include classroom teachers curriculum specialists technology advocates librarians etc etc reference schools a reference school is a school or district that has opted in to connecting with other schools and educators interested in using Google products in their classroom Google for education partners these services can include hardware sales implementation support and educator professional development how can you find all four of these experts Google makes it real easy to locate all four of these experts they are all found in the Google Education Directory certified trainers innovators Google for education partners and reference schools are all there connect with a local expert tasks one filter within the education directory page in this task were asked to filter within the Google education directory page so let me type that in Google education directory and we'll enter the page and let's do area code all seven 604 and if we want to filter for let's see let's say you want an innovator we'll click right here and we'll go down and here the list of innovators test to find a certified trainer and others near you and the second test asks you to find a certified trainer so let's say you want to find a certified trainer and will do me for example let's say you're looking for me right or just somebody in my area you can put all sevens connect with over move this box and we'll click certified trainer scroll down and that's me right here I'm a certified trainer you can click and it gives you information about services see my name here and you can fill this out if you want to contact me if you're looking for a training and if you are looking for a training please fill this out and I'll come and I'll do it will be a great training be a great wonderful great training next up be able to identify the right expert here I'm gonna briefly discuss some situations and match up the experts for that situation if I wanted to connect with another teacher who had ideas on how to use these Google tools I would go to a certified innovator if I was looking to find somebody that was an expert and is able to deliver professional development I would go to a certified trainer which is what I am if I was looking for advice from other schools the best way to implement google tools i would go to a reference school and if i was looking for an organization that has experience in delivering professional development as well as product as well as product deployment i would go to a google education partner now let's move on to the lesson check and go back to the training center and we'll scroll down to the lesson check and the first question reads if you wanted to find a local google expert who could show you something interesting can show you some interesting new ways to use google maps in your classroom you would search for which of the following and something interesting you do a google education certified innovator that's correct if you wanted to find a local google expert who come to your school to do a specific training around google education tools with teachers you would search for which of the following and this one this was actually pretty tricky it's gonna be a google certified trainer and a Google for education partner because they also supply a lot of trainers so that was a tough one which of the following is not available to search for in the Google for education directory so what isn't in the directory there's no such thing as Google certified principles that's not true anyone can request to be listed in the Google for education directory now you have to you have to go to a full full process so that's going to be false and before we finish we must complete the overall unit review which we'll do now and now the unit review a question 1 which of the following online resources could you use when you want to search for how to do something with a Google tool so if you want to know how to do something with a Google tool you can do all three of the strategies we went over which is Google search Google Help Center and Google for education help forms if you want to contribute your expertise to a community of educators doing similar tasks as you which of the following would you use you could use Google for education help form and Google educated groups which of the following are reasons you might join Agra so what are some reasons to connect with other educators using Google tools to playing social events for people how to share the tools to get new ideas from educators in your area to share mazing things happening in your classroom okay by joining a Google educator group you automatically create your own personal one personal and it's gonna be learning a goal to the Google for education directory and search for a Google for education partner located in Miami who is the partner so this is kind of a task oriented question let's let's go through it so we're going to the Google Education directory I got there from a basic Google search and now it says we're gonna filter from Miami Miami let's search and they wanted us to filter for a partner so you see your partners yellow and the first one we have here it says tigerdirect business and I think that was one of the choices tiger they go Tiger direct business and let's go into the last one of the following which primarily refers to individuals so what what are just people's what are just people that's going to be a certified trainer and a certified innovator reference schools obviously our schools and partners a group of individuals so let's submit these answers and I got one wrong let's see what I did wrong here personal learn okay this is what I got wrong I spell to work wrong I spelled Network wrong there you go Personal Learning Network let's resubmit and now it's six out of six so justjust be careful with your spelling here Network adding n ET wo RK my mistake and
